How to report emails as spam or not spam

If you notice some spam is not caught by the filter or real messages are marked as spam, just upload the original messages to SpamBull’s accuracy training system. The training system is developed to help the system learn from the data and improve how it classifies emails in the future.

Emails that are configured to be unfiltered are excluded from the training system, for example (but not limited to), if a sender/recipient is on the Allow list.

We recommend that users forward the email as an attachment to the IT support team, see Forward unwanted message as Attachment. After that, the IT support team analyses and uploads that message to the SpamBull panel as shown below.

How to train messages to be flagged as spam

1. Log in to the SpamBull admin center.
2. In the left menu, expand the tab General.
3. Navigate to the domain you added by clicking on Domains overview (see Add domain first, if you have not yet added the domain).
4. Click on the domain you want to flag spam for, to access the domain control panel.

Once you are viewing the affected Domain Control Panel, proceed to train the message as Spam/Not Spam:

5. In the left menu, expand the tab Incoming.
6. Click on Train messages.
7. In the Train messages page, drag and drop or browse for and upload messages you want the system to treat differently. Messages can be in .msg, .eml or .txt format only.
8. Select whether the message(s) should be recognized as legitimate (false positive) or spam (false negative).
9. Click Continue.

10. You will be asked to confirm you wish to train a message, click Report as spam/Report as legitimate.

11. Close the confirmation box once you see the file(s) have been successfully uploaded
